The only thing that every one of us has in common
Is that we all will die
Tonight, tomorrow, it makes no difference
So many paths left to unfold
Too many parables to be told
Why even try explaining
Common senses to the deaf, blind and dumb?
What do they feel when there’s nothing to be won?
Trying to rise against the setting of the sun
But all you ever do is squabble over how disparate their lives
Their beliefs, are from yours
Exclusive like Star-Bellied Sneeches
Engorged blood sucking leeches
Attached to the limbs of the shambling dead
Reliant on sustenance provided
Blinders on
They never realize that without us they’d shrivel up and die
The history of the passed
Outweighs all this pettiness
Understand the deceased are in the majority
What’s with all this hostility?
Why even try explaining
Common senses to the deaf, blind and dumb?
What do they feel when there’s nothing to be won?
Trying to rise against the setting of the sun
A frigid chill hits the streets
And petrifies our bones
Where the end lies
Nobody knows
