But that'd be lying - see I'm always moving

At times closer to God, but other times away
I feel the tug of the world, looking to find a way

I'm torn inside and all I know to do is pray

The world's looking so tasty
I think I'll take a bite, no wait, maybe
It's like I'm unsure of what I want
My conscience saying one thing

But my flesh is undermining my convictions
I know in God I can be freed of these addictions
But do I really want to?

If I ask God to be in my heart
But keep it open to others I guess there's still
A part of me that's infatuated by selfish desires
I keep on going to church cuz I'm afraid of the fires
God says if I'm lukewarm, not much I can do for Him
I'll be like old gum and He'll spit me out

A newborn child in the faith has to learn to surrender everything
And I'm still holding onto this world instead of Heaven's King
God I know You can change me, show me where to start
