If you're current state was an illusion
Would you crucify those who would seek to make you cognizant?
For years I've pursued a savior fabricated by narcissism
In seeking answers I've only generated more questions
Can you condemn me for rejecting the sunrise
If all I've ever known is the night?
Can you convict me for failing to reach the sky
If nature has stolen my wings?
Haunted by the transience of my existence
I struggle to cope with my mortality
In silence madness is creeping, persuading me
But suddenly I hear the sound of my own voice trying to save me
I used to envy the dead and pity the living
Now I understand that everyone dies, but not everyone lives
If thinking critically is evil, then call me Lucifer
For I'm about to have an opinion:
The closer I get to the truth
The farther I carry myself from reality
