Waking up at midnight to a giant storm
I just want to get some rest but it won't stop pourin
All this lightening calling me to act
It won't stop til something snaps
I hear the wood crack
Get me to the porch where I can watch the storm
I can make the leaves out as they're getting torn
I step off the covered ledge I stand
Into darkness save that flashing strand
And the thunder's loud
And it's all mixed up
And I cannot tell what I'm thinking of
But I could if I ever asked
Please now, whisper in my ear
Please now, get inside my head
In the dream-state of you
In the only thing you do that could be you
That I'd see you
Now I don't know where I am
Now I can't stand on the stand
I just want more from myself
To be what it is
That makes a person live a life
And do more than, more than that
